Finding Your Love Compatibility Based upon the Different Astrological Signs

Written by psychiclineadmin on April 21, 2009

A lot of people wonder if you should choose your mate based upon the compatibility of your astrological sign. And while there is no definitive answer, there does seem to be a lot of truth to love compatibility based on your signs. There are many different ways that compatibility between signs can be determined. The easiest and probably best known way though is to base compatibility upon groupings of the same element. What this means in its most simple form is that signs of the same element, let’s choose the earth element for instance, are very compatible in love. So if you’re a Capricorn two signs that would be very compatible for you would be the Taurus or the Virgo.

The same holds true for any of the three other elements. The water signs, Scorpio, Pisces, and Cancer, are all compatible with each other. The air signs, Aquarius, Libra, and Gemini, are also compatible with each other as are the fire signs, Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius.

And although it’s not very realistic that you’ll be able to choose a love interest based solely on their astrological sign, it can help you make a decision if you’re on the fence with your current lover.

So what should you do if your lover doesn’t have a sign that belongs to the same element as your sign? Not to worry. There’s a good chance that your lover can still be compatible. The next element that you need to look at is the opposite of your element. Let’s say that your sign is Cancer. The opposite sign of cancer is Capricorn. Capricorn is an earth sign, and therefore any Virgo, Taurus, or Capricorn would also be a good match.

So as you can see there’s at least a 50-50 chance that your lover will be a good match for you. But you should keep in mind that you need to make all life-changing decisions based on many things, not just the compatibility of your astrological signs.

Aquarius – The eleventh astrological sign of the zodiac

Aquarius, the water or cup bearer. The eleventh astrological sign of the zodiac

Aquarius, the water or cup bearer. The eleventh astrological sign of the zodiac

Aquarius, the water bearer or cup bearer, is the eleventh astrological sign of the zodiac. If your birthday falls between January 20 – February 18, your sign is Aquarius.

Aquarius gets its name from the constellation of the same name, yet is no longer aligned with it due to the precession of the equinoxes. It’s a masculine, or positive – extroverted sign that’s now ruled by Uranus.

It’s also an air sign, and one of the four fixed signs. As such, people that are born under the Aquarius sign tend to be very outgoing and sociable types. They’re also typically intellectual and enjoy deep philosophical debates. They’re strong and focused with great stamina, but sometimes this is a disadvantage as they can often be inflexible and unyielding in their opinions.

Aquarius the constellation has several references in mythology. There doesn’t seem to be an agreement on which one is the true origin of the constellation, but one of the most famous is that it is based on Ganymede. Ganymede was a mortal hero and Trojan prince. He was so handsome in fact that Zeus fell in love with him and then abducted him in the form of an eagle. He then sent him to serve as the immortal cup bearer to the gods and to dispense mead to them.

Those that are born under Aquarius are intelligent and strong willed individuals with strong and sometimes conceited opinions. They’re often innovative and revolutionary in their ideas, but can be unpredictable and a little eccentric in achieving them. Some people see them as cold and detached, but as far as the different signs of the zodiac are concerned, they’re some of the most tolerant and altruistic ones. They do have high expectations though, and because of that they can be outspoken and temperamental.

Some good career matches for an Aquarius are ones that involve intellectual pursuits or entertainment. Scientists, researchers, computer programmers, engineers, managers, actors, musicians, and artists are a few that are a good fit.

Famous Aquarians include Edwin “Buzz” Aldrin, Lord Byron, John Belushi, Douglas MacArthur, Franklin Roosevelt, Oprah Winfrey, John Travolta, Abraham Lincoln, and Paul Newman to name a few.

Libra – The seventh astrological sign of the zodiac

Libra, the scales of balance. The seventh astrological sign of the zodiac

Libra, the scales of balance. The seventh sign of the zodiac

Libra, commonly known as the scales or balance, is the seventh sign of the zodiac. If your birthday falls between September 23 – October 22, then your astrological sign is Libra. It’s origins are that of the constellation that shares its name. But, much like the other signs of the zodiac, Libra is no longer aligned with its constellation due to the precession of the equinoxes. Libra, like Taurus, is ruled by the planet Venus.

Libra is a positive, or masculine / extroverted air sign. It’s also one of the four cardinal signs. These signs are hinge signs in that they mark the change of seasons. Libra marks the change of summer into autumn.

Common traits of the air signs are leadership abilities including the tendency to be forceful and dynamic. At the same time, the air sign also implies the possibility of stubbornness, selfishness, and a somewhat controlling element to them.

From Greek Mythology, Libra got its name from the Greek Goddess of Justice Themis, and her daughter Astraea. Astraea went to the heavens and became the constellation Virgo. She carried with her the scales of justice, which became the neighboring constellation Libra. Interestingly, Libra is the only zodiac symbol that’s based on an inanimate object instead of a living being.

Because Libra represents the time of the year when people reap the rewards of harvest, or the apex of the year it’s often considered the most desirable symbol of the zodiac.

Libras tend to be very sociable and charming individuals. They’re very diplomatic and possess a great ability to compromise in the most difficult situations. They’re cooperative and sensitive to the needs of others. Like the scales themselves, Libras are very fair and balanced. Much of this is due to their logical and analytical thought processes, and the fact that they don’t let their own opinions get in the way of the facts. Typically they tend to be very refined and artistic. They’re also extremely romantic and flirty. If anything, Libras can have a tendency to be too pleasure driven.

Suitable careers for Libras include anything that requires a high degree of impartiality, logic, and analytical abilities. Also, anything related to the arts or refinement and taste. Artists, Entertainers, Designers, decorators, Lawyers, Judges, and Accountants are all some good choices.

Some famous Libras Include John Lennon, Jimmy Carter, Johnny Cochran, Dwight Eisenhower, Dizzy Gillespie, Jim Henson, Timothy Leary, Annie Liebovitz, William Rehnquist, Al Sharpton, and Bruce Springsteen to name a few
