Aquarius, the water or cup bearer. The eleventh astrological sign of the zodiac

Aquarius, the water bearer or cup bearer, is the eleventh astrological sign of the zodiac. If your birthday falls between January 20 – February 18, your sign is Aquarius.

Aquarius gets its name from the constellation of the same name, yet is no longer aligned with it due to the precession of the equinoxes. It’s a masculine, or positive – extroverted sign that’s now ruled by Uranus.

It’s also an air sign, and one of the four fixed signs. As such, people that are born under the Aquarius sign tend to be very outgoing and sociable types. They’re also typically intellectual and enjoy deep philosophical debates. They’re strong and focused with great stamina, but sometimes this is a disadvantage as they can often be inflexible and unyielding in their opinions.

Aquarius the constellation has several references in mythology. There doesn’t seem to be an agreement on which one is the true origin of the constellation, but one of the most famous is that it is based on Ganymede. Ganymede was a mortal hero and Trojan prince. He was so handsome in fact that Zeus fell in love with him and then abducted him in the form of an eagle. He then sent him to serve as the immortal cup bearer to the gods and to dispense mead to them.

Those that are born under Aquarius are intelligent and strong willed individuals with strong and sometimes conceited opinions. They’re often innovative and revolutionary in their ideas, but can be unpredictable and a little eccentric in achieving them. Some people see them as cold and detached, but as far as the different signs of the zodiac are concerned, they’re some of the most tolerant and altruistic ones. They do have high expectations though, and because of that they can be outspoken and temperamental.

Some good career matches for an Aquarius are ones that involve intellectual pursuits or entertainment. Scientists, researchers, computer programmers, engineers, managers, actors, musicians, and artists are a few that are a good fit.

Famous Aquarians include Edwin “Buzz” Aldrin, Lord Byron, John Belushi, Douglas MacArthur, Franklin Roosevelt, Oprah Winfrey, John Travolta, Abraham Lincoln, and Paul Newman to name a few.

Sagittarius – The ninth astrological sign of the zodiac

Sagittarius, the Archer. The ninth astrological sign of the zodiac

Sagittarius, the Archer. The ninth astrological sign of the zodiac

Sagittarius the archer, is the ninth sign of the zodiac. If your birthday falls between November 23 – December 21, then your astrological sign is Sagittarius.

Like most of the other astrological signs, Sagittarius is no longer aligned with the constellation from which it got it’s name due to the precession of the equinoxes.

Sagittarius is a masculine / extroverted positive sign. Because of this, those people that fall under this sign tend to be more extroverted and do well in most social situations. It’s also a mutable fire sign that’s ruled by the planet Jupiter, one of the more influential and powerful mythological gods, and is associated with good fortune.

In most accounts of mythology, Sagittarius is often shown as a centaur – half human, half horse. The greeks thought that centaurs were brave and adventurous creatures that were very wise, but had a proclivity for fighting and general unruly behavior. These traits are sometimes attributed to Sagittarians too. The symbol for Sagittarius is the bow and arrow; the weapon that the centaur is often shown wielding.

People that are born under the Sagittarius sign tend to be very talkative and witty individuals. They’re typically the intelligent and intellectual types that have a confident and positive outlook on life. They’re honest and sincere, sometimes to a fault. Quite often they’re spiritual or religious, and let their morals influence their decisions. Sagittarians are adventurous. They’re not afraid to take risks. Although the drawback to this is that they can be careless and impulsive. Generally, they’re well liked and they can be very generous individuals.

There are many great and diverse career choices for Sagittarians. Most anything that requires intellectual discipline is a good fit. Scientists, researchers, teachers, and lawyers for instance. Because of their adventurous nature, travel and military / law enforcement careers also seem to be a good choice.

Some famous Sagittarians include Abbie Hoffman, Bette Midler, Bruce Lee, Frank Sinatra, Frank Zappa, Jimi Hendrix, Walt Disney, and Winston Churchill.

Leo – The fifth astrological sign of the zodiac

Written by psychiclineadmin on November 27, 2008

Leo - The Lion. The fifth astrological sign of the zodiac.

Leo - The Lion. The fifth astrological sign of the zodiac.

Leo the Lion is the fifth sign of the zodiac. If your birthday falls between July 23 and August 22, then your sign is Leo.

Leo is a fire sign and also one of the positive or extroverted masculine signs. Much like other signs of the zodiac, Leo is no longer aligned with the constellation that shares its name due to the precession of the equinoxes.

Leo is ruled by the sun, and along with Taurus, Scorpio, and Aquarius is one of the fixed signs. Because of this, Leos tend to be strong, possessing great strength and stamina. Conversely though, they tend to be slightly stubborn and inflexible.

From Greek Mythology, the constellation was created when Hercules, as one of his twelve labors, set out to slay the Nemean Lion. After he killed the lion, it was sent to the heavens by Zeus where it is visible today as the constellation Leo.

Leo’s tend to be very creative and passionate about most things. They love attention and the spotlight, and are very passionate about things they deem important in their lives. They can be very faithful to others, and at the same time quite protective of them. They’re noble and are known to have magnetic personalities. One of their less desirable traits is being overly dramatic. This is directly related to their love of attention. They can also be very bossy and argumentative. Along with these,
they’re often associated with being dogmatic; a direct correlation to the fact that they’re one of the fixed signs.

If you’re a Leo, some potentially good careers for you include anything related to fashion, politics, law, business, or entertainment and the arts.

Some famous Leos include, Aldous Huxley, Mick Jagger, Queen Elizabeth, Andy Warhol, Herbert Hoover, Jerry Falwell, Alfred Hitchcock, Bill Clinton, Napoleon, and Yassar Arafat to name a few.
