Tarot Psychics and the Power of The Tarot
Written by psychiclineadmin on February 8, 2009
One form of fortune telling was the use of tarot cards. Picturing gypsies using these tarot cards was an easy vision to conjure up but the problem with this was that gypsies didn’t use tarot cards until the 20th century.
Tarot cards of the modern type date back to 15th century Italy and a game called “triumphs,” which is tarots in French. Two sets of cards, one having 22 picture cards and another set of cards having 56 cards with pictures. The major arcana is the 22 card set and the minor arcana is the 56 card set. The major arcana has such pictures as the Fool, the Devil, Temperance, the Hermit, the Sun, the Lovers, the Hanged Man, and Death while the minor arcana has the kings, or lords, queens, or ladies, knights and knaves, or pages or servants, of sticks or wands, cudgels or batons, swords, cups and coins.
The best psychics use to be the ones seekers would go to have their “cards” read but now people can purchase a deck of tarot cards for less than $10 and learn to read their own tarot cards. But, to just pick up a deck of tarot cards and read them is not really easy if you don’t know what each card means. The tarot is a strong tool to combine your inner and outer self making it possible to live a more fulfilling life and gain insight into your personal growth and goals.
Understanding one’s self and tapping into your inner resources does not require psychic abilities in order to utilize the tarot cards. Developing your natural self and your willingness to honor your natural self are the most important things to using the tarot cards successfully. Learning tarot cards is a self paced lesson and there are several lessons on the internet and also in books.
The main thing needed for learning is a deck of tarot cards. The Rider-Waite deck of tarot cards is widely popular as it has pictures on every card and helps in learning. Thus the quest begins for the one who is interested in learning how to read the tarot cards, which is regarded as a tool for answers to the doubts we have. At a tarot reading there is the querent and the psychic reader, although sometimes one person is both the seeker and psychic reader. The seeker shuffles the cards and cuts the deck and then the psychic reader places the chosen cards in a pattern known as the spread. Each position in a spread has a definition and so does each card. Next, the psychic reader puts both of these together and helps to find an solution to the seekers question.
Long ago it was said that the tarot cards had to be stored in a silk cloth and no one could touch them except the psychic. And if the silk cloth wasn’t put around them when the session was done, the cards would lose their power to predict the future. Some carry on with this tradition.

Most modern psychic tarot readings use a cards that are a variant of the rider-waite tarot
Written by psychiclineadmin on November 21, 2008
Tarot Cards have been around for centuries, and in many different incarnations and forms. Throughout Europe they are still used to play traditional tarot card games. But for a lot of us, tarot cards are primarily used as a form of divination – telling fortunes. And if you think it’s just a fad, keep in mind that millions of people have gotten psychic tarot readings in order to aid them in important life decisions.
Traditional tarot cards differ significantly from those used in psychic tarot readings. The game based cards have many different themes, designs, colors, and patterns. These are largely regional variations that depend on the location of the players. Typically, there are 78 cards in the game decks; four suits of fourteen cards, twenty one trump cards, and a fool card.
Psychic tarot cards used for psychic readings are much different. Over time, there have been many different variations to the tarot reading deck. The differences in the modern decks are largely based on differing symbols or colors. But there is one deck that has risen to the top, and become the most popular deck in the English speaking world; the Rider-Waite Tarot. It’s worth noting that almost all of the modern variations of the tarot deck are based on the Rider-Waite Tarot.
The deck is comprised of two parts; the Major Arcana and the Minor Arcana. The Major Arcana are the trump cards. These are scene based cards that typically have a roman numeral and a name. They’re steeped in symbolism, and provide the deeper answers to the tarot meaning that you’ll get from a reading. The Major Arcana provides insight into areas that are usually more profound, or deeper in meaning.
The Minor Arcana are a symbolic subset consisting of 56 cards. These cards also typically have a roman numeral and a name for each of them. This grouping is said to relate to more immediate matters in one’s life such as daily activities or events.
Finally, if you’re new to tarot cards, there are plenty of great online tarot card tutorials that will help you learn all about them. And remember, always do your research before you employ the services of a psychic tarot card reader.
